What is the turn around time for translations?

Our goal is to work with you to develop a realistic and cost-effective delivery time that meets your needs. Typically, you can assume that it will take one day for every 20 pages of material, one week for every twenty minutes of video, or 3 weeks for a 300-page manual or a 60-minute video; add time for review of drafts by you and by RDP staff and editors.

Do you certify translations?

Yes, we certify documents, such as birth certificates and legal agreements.

Will my documents be formatted for printing?

We can format and edit your document for print for an additional charge. However, we always strive to maintain the original layout to the extent possible.

What types of documents do you translate?

RDP has the experience you need! RDP is in the business of translating just about anything our clients require, including: letters, legal and other documents; forms; financial, business and marketing materials and advertisements; newsletters; scientific, medical and corporate reports and related documents; proposals, contracts, brochures, manuals and presentations.

What about automatic translation tools?

RDP specializes in translations by humans; unlike some other firms, we use only real translators, not automated systems, to provide translations. This ensures that our translations meet the highest standards of linguistic and contextual accuracy.

Do you provide “emergency” translations?

If you have an impending deadline that requires an “immediate” translation, RDP will provide express service for your translation. Additional charges do apply for rush jobs and typically a translator will be able to translate 2,000 to 3,000 words per day. We can also use several translators to accomplish this task; however, our standards discourage from doing so because there may be significant and apparent differences in style.

Do you proofread translations?

If you need final draft proofreading we can furnish a second opinion or suggest corrections regarding the use of language, the quality of the translation, equivalent but culturally and educationally appropriate style, typographical and spelling errors and inconsistencies. Because proofreading is usually the last step before publishing a document for customers, we will expedite this service to meet any of your challenging deadlines.

In what format can you receive documents to be translated?

We accept documents in most PC- and Mac-based software. MS Word and PDF files are preferred and can be easily attached to an e-mail.

How will you return my document?

The easiest way is to send it by e-mail, but we can also return documents by fax or courier. Additional charges or change of delivery date prior to performing the translation or proofreading.
